Level Assessment
At Keytech Design, we collaborate closely with our clients to deliver practical and cost-effective level solutions that comply with all relevant standards and regulations.
A level assessment is a comprehensive evaluation process that involves determining the appropriate elevations and gradients for various components of a construction site. This assessment is crucial for ensuring the practicality, safety, and regulatory compliance of a project.
What Factors Are Important
Practicality
Designed levels should be practical, taking into account future usability and the requirement for the drainage of surface water and the need to effectively incorporate below ground iinfrastructure.
Existing Ground Levels
Existing ground levels should be taken into consideration when undertaking a levels assessment. This can prove beneficial to the balancing of site materials and can reduce the movement of material on and off site. This has both economical and environmental benefits.
Building Regulations
When undertaking a levels assessment, it is important to ensure that buildings are accessible for the disabled. These requirements are indicated in Part M of the Building Regulations.
Planning Conditions
Sometimes there are planning conditions which require levels, specifically the height of buildings, to be limited. There may also be minumum levels established in order to mitigate flood risk.
